The Infinite

I don't know about you but I love to spend time thinking about the infinite. The infinite God, The Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, the infinite number of stars, the fact that scientists will never uncover the limits of the galaxies or discover an end to outer space as there is none. As more and more seemingly infinite interactions between species are discovered we post them in periodicals, write them in textbooks or display them on TV, I cease to be amazed! What about our body and the miracle of all other bodies of creation?; can we explain it all, when we have only discovered facts as related as a minuscule of sand to all sand on a vast seashore?

We know almost nothing. Scientists would have you think the reverse, we have it all wrapped up into a tight ball called big bang and evolution. All we have to do is unwrap this golf ball and uncover the truth. Unfortunately, our ball is toooooooo small!!!

Infinite: indefinitely, extending immeasurably to which no number can be attached. Subject to no limitation, being greater than any finite value. Having no boundaries or limits, no end.

Synonyms: countless, incalculable, incomputable, boundless, endless, unfathomable, immeasurable, illimitable, measureless, unlimited

Antonyms: finite, definite, limited, restricted, bounded, confined.

Jesus Christ said, "Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:57
God is all knowing (Omniscient) 1 John 3:20, Matthew 10:29-30 knows every hair of our head and sees every single small thing that lives and falls to the ground in death, Isaiah 46:9-10 says he knows the end to the beginning, God knows our thoughts before we speak Psalm 139:4, God knows us while we are in the womb Psalm 139:1-3, 15-16. Gods the hearts of all the children of mankind 1 Kings 8:39. God has never had a beginning, is infinitely perfect and just, all wise, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, no Beginning nor End, infinitely eternal, Timeless, infinitely just. All of these statements refer to the Trinity. Isaiah 45:22-23

The Infinite God: Understanding Him
A.W. Tozer said “God dwells in a mode of being totally beyond us and wholly above us and infinitely removed from us yet when we think about God we are trying to think about someone unlike anything we know. God says, who am I like? or to whom will you compare me? The answer being, nobody; nobody's like God, nothing's like God. God is like Himself.

We dwell in matter and space and time and we are creatures. God is not material; he doesn't dwell in matter. And he isn't spacial; He doesn't dwell in space. And he isn't temporal; he doesn't dwell in time. And he isn't a creature; God is a Creator, not a creature. God was before any creature was and as I have said before, nothing adds anything to God and nothing can take anything away from him.”

-a sermon called "Facing the Infinite God" in Toronto Alliance Church by A.W. Tozer.

My recommendation: read all you can on Tozer.
